About

Cohere adds a cloud transcription engine to TypeWhisper powered by the Cohere Transcribe API. Introduced in PR #185, the plugin provides state-of-the-art speech recognition across 14 languages using a REST-based architecture. Audio is sent to Cohere’s API endpoint and the transcribed text is returned directly.

Configuration

  • API Key - Create an API key at cohere.com and paste it into the plugin settings.

Setup

  1. Create a free account at cohere.com
  2. Generate an API key in your dashboard
  3. Open TypeWhisper Settings > Plugins
  4. Find the Cohere plugin and click Configure
  5. Enter your Cohere API key and save it
  6. Select Cohere as your transcription engine in Settings or in a profile
