Requirements

The published macOS package requires TypeWhisper 1.4.0 or newer, macOS 14 or newer, and Apple Silicon. A configured MemPalace service and its access credential are required.

Setup

  1. Install MemPalace from Settings > Integrations > Discover and enable it.
  2. Choose MemPalace Cloud or Self-Hosted in the configuration.
  3. For a self-hosted service, enter its base URL. Save the service API key in the plugin’s secure credential field.
  4. Choose the Wing and Room used to organize TypeWhisper memories.
  5. Enable memory in TypeWhisper and configure its extraction LLM. Review stored entries in MemPalace. macOS writes extracted entries to every enabled, ready memory provider.

Memories and search requests are sent to the configured service. Self-hosting describes who operates the server; it does not guarantee that processing occurs on the same Mac. For an entirely local workflow, both the memory storage and the LLM used to extract facts must run locally.
