TypeWhisper in your other tools

Dictate in the browser, control TypeWhisper from Raycast or a Stream Deck, and give coding agents access to transcription and your dictionary. Every extension talks to the TypeWhisper app through its local API.

Browser

TypeWhisper for Chrome and Firefox

Dictate into any text field in the browser, and let website workflows match the page you are on.

macOS and Windows

Start or stop a dictation with Alt+Shift+D (⌥⇧D).
Right-click a text field and choose Dictate with TypeWhisper.
Optional microphone button in the focused text field.
Tells TypeWhisper which website is open, so website workflows match. This also works in the Mac App Store edition, which cannot read browser addresses itself.
Talks only to TypeWhisper's local API on 127.0.0.1. Private windows are never shared.

Setup

Needs TypeWhisper for Mac or Windows with the API server turned on. On the Mac, open Settings › Advanced, turn on the API server, click Copy API Token, and paste the token into the extension. On Windows, open Settings › Advanced and turn on Enable HTTP API. If Require API token is on, click Copy API token and paste the token into the extension.

Control TypeWhisper from Raycast without leaving the keyboard.

macOS and Windows

Start a dictation, or dictate with a specific workflow.
Search your transcription history.
Transcribe audio files, and start or stop the recorder.
Manage the dictionary and your workflows.
Switch the transcription model.

Stream Deck

TypeWhisper for Stream Deck

Keys for dictation, workflows, and the recorder.

macOS and Windows · Stream Deck 7.1 or later

Start and stop dictation. The key shows whether TypeWhisper is idle, recording, or processing.
Workflow dictation. On Stream Deck +, turn the dial to choose a workflow.
Recorder for the microphone, system audio, or both.
Copy the last transcription.
Add the term on the clipboard to the dictionary.

Download from GitHubOpen the .streamDeckPlugin file and confirm in Stream Deck. The plugin finds TypeWhisper's API port and token automatically.

MCP server

Lets coding agents and other MCP clients transcribe files, check model status, search your transcription history, and manage dictionary terms and corrections.
